McDonald’s: Our food is Halaal

McDONALD’S Malaysia has stressed that it does not use porcine material in its food, reported Berita Harian.

The fast food chain said that its products were halal.

“Our customers can enjoy our food without any worry because it has been prepared in accordance with government guidelines,” a spokesman told the daily in response to claims that pig material identified as LM10 was found in the mayonnaise used by the chain.

There were also claims that McDonald’s South African management confirmed that all sauce ingredients were imported from the United States and that Muslims were to avoid the chain.

The spokesman said the public could check the chain’s halal status with the Halal Hub under the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia.
