Nominations are open for the inaugural World Halal Travel Awards, the first awards to solely represent the halal and family friendly travel and tourism industry, to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in October.
The awards show will take place on October 20, at the Emirates Palace, in partnership with the World Halal Travel Summit & Exhibition, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (Adnec).
Andy Buchanan, director, said: “The World Halal Travel Awards are the first of their kind and will form the benchmark for excellence in the Halal tourism industry.
“We have already received several nominations across the 15 awards categories and will be announcing the nominees in August. The Halal and family friendly tourism market is booming and we look forward to celebrating with the ‘best of the best’ at Emirates Palace on the 20th October,” he added.

Award nominations will close on July 31, after which voting will open. The short-list of nominees will be announced on September 21, and the winners and runners-up awarded at the glittering Awards Gala Dinner in October, it added.
Judging will be undertaken by an independent committee comprising industry leaders from across the Halal travel and tourism industry, it stated.
