Halal Fiesta Malaysia (HALFEST) kicks off today at the Mines Exhibition Center, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. HALFEST will run till October 6, showcasing quality halal certified products and services by Malaysian SMEs. The event was first held in 2011.
This year’s organizer, CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd in its statement earlier mentioned that HALFEST will have seminars and business matching sessions apart from the chance for SMEs to strengthen their brand development and build their presence in the local market.
HALFEST, hosted by Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) will see halal products and services from different sectors such as food and beverage, cosmetics and personal care, Islamic capital and financial services. With close to 600 booths available, the third edition of the annual HALFEST event is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.
Other attractions include live cooking demonstration by Malaysia’s food ambassador, Chef Wan and lots of prizes to be won from the many games and contests that will take place. HALFEST 2013 is also touted as Malaysia’s biggest Halal Food Expo.
