SheikhaHub, a Malaysian online hub for Islamic fashion industry which held its first fashion show here, not only promotes Islamic fashion, but also the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 program.
Its founder, Datin Norzihan Ahmad Latt said they would also promote the national tourism program in Australia next year in conjunction with its fashion shows in Melbourne and Sydney which are scheduled to be held in March and April respectively.
SheikhaHub, a platform to assist entrepreneurs dedicated to the development of Islamic fashion via on-ground activities (fashion shows, bazaar, networking sessions) and online assistance (directory, tips), would also organise a world fashion forum next year in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with VMY 2014, she said in her welcoming speech at the SheikhaHub “Fashion with a heart” held here, Tuesday night.
Malaysian prime minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who was in town to attend the 4th Qatar International Businesswomen Forum (QIBWF) at St Regis Hotel, attended the function for a while before flying off to Dubai, United Arabs Emirates for a three-day working visit.
Together with Rosmah at the fashion gala was the Qatar prime minister’s wife, Sheikha Alanoud bint Abdalrahman Althani. Earlier both of them had tea at the hotel.
Norzihan said the fashion show, which showcased the products of eight designers including four from Malaysia, was also being held to raise funds for the Qatar Charity Fund to assist needy children in the country.
Among the Malaysian designers taking part in the show were Farah Adeeba and Nurul Azwin under the label of Najjah, and sisters Azura Liyana and Azwa Elana under the label Azura Azwa
